I knew that if this book involved Buster it was going to be interesting. Through the first three books, Buster comes across as this rough tough guy, but underneath it all he's a pussy cat. Not that anyone would admit that fact to his face; but they all knew it for a fact. He thinks his friends who've recently fallen in love, have become sappy whimps when it comes to the women in their lives. He vows never give up that kind of control to a woman again, after having been burned badly a few years prior by Jessica....his money grubbing ex-girlfriend.And then walks Willow. She the one woman he has been in his thoughts & dreams for years now. And even though they hadn't spoken more than a handful of words between them, the attraction between them was so fierce and undeniable. Only he finds out very quickly that she's not there just by chance. No. She wants him to sell her his cafe in New York, the only one that means the world to him and his parents.....and that's just not going to happen.
Willow didn't expect to find the man she had dreamed about for years, to be the person she came to talk into selling his Cafe in N.Y City. But there he was, and he was just as handsome as she remembered. No matter how strong the attraction is between them, she's on a mission and she needs to get him to agree to the generous offer she came to present to him, or she'll not only loose the chance to become partner in the realty firm, but there's a good chance that she'll end up loosing her home, too. Who knew the man of her fantasies would be this infuriating man that blocked her at every turn?
Sparks fly, but the tempers flare between these two like lightening bolts. It was very interesting to watch these two go through the dance of life together, before they finally got down to solving both of their hidden insecurities, and finally found a way to work them out together.
Through it all; I laughed and I cried, and then I laughed some more. It was so nice to catch up with all of the other characters we've met in the past. In fact, I think that's the best part of any really good series, getting to know the characters well enough that they become like your own personal friends and family..

This series is wonderful. Never read this author before, but she has a new follower! When I read, I guess I feel part of the story...I laugh and cry...this writer brings you in almost from the beginning! I read the first one, I think I am now on the 4th. Treat yourself and take the first step
Third book in the series. So far I have not been disappointed reading this series from author Wendy Bella. She writes the best love stories with a happy ending.
I love a good love story! This is intense and painful! It's nice to see Buster find his woman. Willow is amazing and so friendly and loving! I want to live here!! Seriously! I wish it were a real place, I'd move, now. My thoughts on why women always give in; are meant for some other venue.
This book is the third book in the series. It is well written. It stands on its own. However, I would encourage you to read the other books, to get the full effect of the wonderful charm of the people in this small town as their life unfolds. I laughed and I cried and laughed some more. Wendy Vella has a gift of writing that had me unable to put the book down until the end of the book.
Up front, I should admit I love stories featuring a baker or chef. There's nothing better than a little food p*rn with your romance. Having the hero be the baker, and also tattooed and the strong, silent type is totally my catnip. I also liked the heroine, and how well Vella portrayed her insecurity and hesitancy with people and affection. One of my favorite of her Lake Howling books.
Book three in the Lake Howling series is as good as the first two. This story focuses on Buster Griffin, town grump and beloved baker, and Willow Harper, uptight New York realtor and loner re-smitten with Buster when she flies from New York to make a real estate offer to him. Along the way characters from the previous two novels involve themselves throughout the book with hilarious dialogue, caring and compassion. A delight to read this contemporary HEA.
this was much better than the 3 rd one and right up there with the first. The only problem with this one was there were some really glaring typos and grammatical mistakes, missing words and wrong tenses. There have been a few in the past books but this was by far the worst. The writer seemed to stick more to subject matters that she knew about which I found more in keeping with this type of book.
