In Fateful you’re introduced to a vampire named Sophia who absolutely loves to cook for her mortal friends. You’ll also get the recipe for the magic fairy juice as mentioned in the books...hopefully without the fey magic, of course.... At the beginning of each chapter is a food-related excerpt from The Fateful Trilogy and at the end is an excerpt from the upcoming story of Max and Nadia. Their story will be book five in the Fateful Series. (These excerpts do contain some spoilers to the trilogy if you haven’t read it yet.)

It did not seem to add anything to the series. The recipes were nothing special. I could find any of them on the net.
I have recently downloaded Sophia's Cookbook for Mortals and I love the idea of a cookbook from the Fateful series because food is talked about and described often in the Fateful series and it always sounds so good so I am excited to actually have some of the recipes. I am looking forward to trying them all. I love the fateful series so this is just a fun bonus to bring it even more to loife.
The recipes are amazing and they go along with what the characters have eaten in the Fateful trilogy and makes the story so real. It so fun to be eating the oh so yummy chocolate cake the Ethan makes for Danielle at the same time I am reading about them doing the same thing. I love that it's from Sophia's point of view so it's just not a cookbook it's a story in its self. Read it from front to back before I even tried any of the recipes!
This book has a lot of great reviews but I was not interested in any of the recipes. I would recommend that you preview the contents before purchasing.
Easy to follow, delicious, crowd pleasing recipes that are sure to become family favorites. Have daughters or are planning a frilly tea party? This is a must have.
I'm not a great cook by any bodies standards, but I love to read cookbooks. It doesn't get much better then Sophia's Cookbook for Mortals! After reading the Fateful series, and not wanting it to end, the cookbook keeps the books "never ending". I have only tried a few desserts so far, and can't wait to cook some of the different courses. I would definitely recommend reading the series before getting the cookbook. You don't want to have the books spoiled thru Sophia's comments. Enjoy!
Sophia's Cookbook for Mortals is so much more than a few recipes. First off I must say that the author has done a great job on the cover; Cheri's book covers are always beautiful. The cookbook starts off with an introduction by the author and also Sophia. "Enjoy my dear little mortals! I envy your taste buds." Then the recipes are divided into seven sections Finger Foods and Dips / Soups, Sides, and Salads / Main Dishes / Breakfast / Tea Party / Fairy Refreshments / Puddings, Afters, and Desserts. Each section is introduced by Sophia and following her words is an excerpt from the Fateful Trilogy. I think the addition of the excerpts provides us readers a fun way to reminisce our way through the trilogy. And not only is each section introduced by Sophia, but she has something personal to say about each and every recipe! All the sections are full of delicious looking recipes begging to be tried; 71 in all. I'm looking forward to trying the Shrimp Taco's with a Honey-Butter Sauce and the White Chocolate Fairy Berry Cupcakes, among many others. There is also more traditional foods like Chicken Noodle Soup for Sick Mortals. Included at the end of the cookbook is an excerpt from the upcoming Max and Nadia Story by the same author. (Can't wait for that one!) I think this cookbook is appropriate for both fans of the Fateful Trilogy and those who are curious about it. Though the excerpts contain spoilers if you haven't read the trilogy. Well done Cheri!
